Internship Program



Program Description

Internship programs are designed to allow foreign college and university students or recent graduates to come to the United States to gain exposure to U.S. culture and to receive hands-on experience in U.S. business practices in their chosen occupational field. The program bridges the gap between formal education and practical work experience.

Internship is offered in the following Occupational Categories:
1. Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing
2. Arts and Culture
3. Construction and Building Trades
4. Education, Social Sciences, Library Science, Counseling and Social Services
5. Health Related Occupations; Hospitality and Tourism
6. Information Media and Communications
7. Management, Business, Commerce and Finance
8. Public Administration and Law; and
9. The Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics and Industrial Occupations.

Minimum Requirements

Interns must be foreign nationals:
1. pursuing studies at a foreign degree- or certificate-granting post-secondary academic institution outside the United States; or
2. graduates from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to their exchange visitor program start date.
